A Royal Collaboration

Mey Selections was founded in 2005 by HRH, The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, to foster closer connections between farmers, fine food and drink producers and customers in the far north of Scotland. The Mey Selections range generates revenue for a charity that supports this fragile economy by supporting local businesses and putting money back into the local area.

Goldfinch Whisky has the pleasure of curating a series of rare cask releases to represent the range of Highland distilleries and array of flavour profiles produced in the region. As part of the product design, we incorporated a compass point and map reference showing the location of The Castle of Mey which was the home of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and now HRH, The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay.

To ensure we sourced only the finest casks, we partnered with Max McFarlane, the whisky maker known for his work with Highland Park and The Macallan. After sampling many casks, we identified the casks to release, ensuring the final whisky wood be natural colour, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength.

Our first Mey Selections Rare Cask Release goes on sale at the 2019 Mey Highland Games and online in our shop in August 2019.
