We were delighted to attend the Whisky Tasting Festival in Bilthoven in The Netherlands. What a fantastic day showcasing our brands to everyone who came and visited our stall. It was held in the Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht on Saturday 16th September, a fantastic old industrial unit, and the perfect space for this festival.
The event was very well organised and had a great atmosphere with a wide range of exhibitors. There were over 1,300 whisky enthusiasts who were keen to try and learn more about our fantastic range of single malt whiskies.
We hosted a masterclass in Whisky & Wijnhandel Verhaar which was a great success! Marcel, who owns the shop, had everything prepared beautifully for the 18 guests to sit down and learn about our brands.
We started with The Goldfinch – Wine Series, introducing our guests to The German Sweet White Wine Finish and Tawny Port Finish. Our Paloma brand was up next, featuring the light peated Ardmore and (we predict) an award winning Craigellachie finished in Palo Cortado 👀. We finished with The Goldfinch – Bodega Series, featuring the Benrinnes finished in Amontillado, Teaninich finished in Oloroso and another new cask bottling from the Bodega Series, a Caol Ila finished in PX sherry.
Each dram was enjoyed more than the last, a great night had by all!
We felt so welcome whilst we were over in The Netherlands, it’s true when they say that Dutch people are some of the happiest people in the world! A special shoutout must go to Hogshead Imports who organised everything and to Whisky & Wijnhandel Verhaar for hosting our masterclass!
